Welcome to the Chameleon Zone

I have kept a male and female veiled chameleon on my back lanai since 2000. Although I've always been fond of reptiles, Chameleons are by far my favorite. My Lanai makes a great free-ranging space for them. It gets full sun during the morning and early afternoons. They have plenty of large potted plants to bask on, with the hibiscus being their favorite. The female has enough range to stay away from the male when she chooses, and plenty of large potted plants to lay her eggs. I've set up a dripper and mister system on a timer to water the plants and mist the chams. They can stay out for most of the year, but need to be brought in during the cooler nights in the winter here in Tampa, FL.
